Alnwick has high praise for Lyness as the best goalkeeper he has trained with in his career despite the fact that he spent several years at Newcastle United and also worked with a lot of good goalkeepers including Shay Given. The St. Mirren shot stopper was coming through at the Premier League clubwhen he had the opportunity to train regularly with goalkeepers like Shay Given, Tim Krul and Steve Harper.

According to him, Shay Given was retiring when he was coming through at Newcastle United and that he was with other good goalkeepers like Rob Elliott, Fraser Foster and the aforementioned duo of Harper and Krul.

Shay Given is a legend on Tyneside after he played with distinction for the Magpies for several years. Apart from Newcastle United, Shay Given also played for Manchester City and Aston Villa in the Premier League before he hung up his gloves.

On Lyness, Alnwick revealed how the St. Mirren goalkeeperrival has been able to push him to be a better shot stopper this season. According to him, his performances in training have been very good and that he has been motivated to do better.
