NEWCASTLE LAUNCH €25M BID FOR LONG-TERM TRANSFER TARGET

According to fresh reports on Tuesday morning, Newcastle United have launched a bid for Santos star Angelo Gabriel. This comes from Brazilian journalist Guido Bortolomasi, who claims that we’ve offered €25m (around £21.8m) after having an initial bid rejected for the 17-year-old talent; who’s been linked on more than one occasion over the past year following Steve Nickson scouting missions.

He adds that Santos president Rueda is expected to accept our second proposal. It’s thought he originally wanted more like €30m (£26.1m) for the attacking midfielder, but is tempted to accept a slightly lower fee now the player has entered the final two years of his contract. It’s believed Barcelona have first refusal and an option to sign the youngster for €35m, however the La Liga giants are NOT expected to act upon that, meaning we could have a free run – for now – at the highly-rated Brazilian who has already made 92 appearances at senior level.

So, with Garang Kuol already signed and Andrey Santos also heavily linked, it seems Gabriel may be the latest young star we’re pushing to bring to St James’ Park. Olly has been a Junior Magpie from birth. As a season ticket holder and avid Newcastle United fan, he eats, sleeps and breathes all things NUFC!

Shay Given has urged the Tyneside outfit to go all out for the player as early as when the January winter transfer window opens for business in a few months. Given believes that the Santos player will be a great addition to the Toons squad and also added that he would bring even more spice to the team as a fresh face with fresh legs. It’s uncertain if Newcastle will be able to sign him in January but it loos very likely that they will be making an attempt to do so.
